Software Development Company in Birmingham

Custom applications, production and business systems and integrations engineered for Birmingham and West Midlands companies, with UK data protection, Making Tax Digital and the shop floor designed in from the first sprint.

Connected devices and systems visualised as a single linked platform

The West Midlands makes things, and the software that runs a manufacturer, a fabricator or a distributor has to match the shop floor: works orders that change mid-run, stock in units that do not match the ones it was bought in, quality records an automotive customer will audit, deliveries that go out before the paperwork catches up. Generic systems handle those badly. Spreadsheets handle them by memory.

Infynix Solutions builds and integrates the systems that fit: production and inventory, quoting and CRM, custom applications and the integrations between them, delivered by a UK company with engineering capacity from our teams in the UAE and India. Birmingham client work happens on site for discovery, migration and go-live, and remotely for the sprints between.

We also build for the other Birmingham: professional services on Colmore Row, healthcare and clinic groups, schools and training providers, property and logistics. The compliance context is designed in from the first sprint: UK GDPR, Making Tax Digital, HMRC-compatible records, WCAG accessibility and integration with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and the tools the business already runs.

How we engage

Fixed-scope project

Discovery produces a specification and a fixed price.

Dedicated team

A named team working through your roadmap in two-week sprints.

Support and evolution

SLA-backed maintenance and improvement for systems we built or inherited.

Software that matches the shop floor

A production system fails when it describes a process the floor does not follow. We design from the floor up: discovery with the production supervisor, the storekeeper, the quality lead and the person who does the dispatch paperwork, not just the managing director. The system is built around the exceptions they describe, with barcode and tablet screens designed for gloves, noise and poor signal.

That is the difference between software that gets used and software that gets worked around with a whiteboard.

Works orders that change

Split, merge and reprioritise jobs mid-run without breaking costing.

Units and conversions

Stock held, bought and consumed in different units without manual arithmetic.

Quality records

Inspections, certificates and non-conformances captured where they happen.

Floor screens

Scanner and tablet interfaces that work offline and sync when signal returns.

Supplying customers who audit you

A West Midlands supplier to automotive or aerospace customers lives under their requirements: quality standards, traceability, certificates of conformity, supplier portals with their own formats, and audits that ask to see the records. Most companies keep this in shared drives until an audit finds the gap. A system that holds those records properly, alerts on expiries and produces the reports in the customer's format turns an audit into a report.

We build compliance and document management into the operational system rather than beside it, so the certificate is attached to the batch and the batch is attached to the order.

Traceability

Batches and serials linked from goods in to dispatch.

Certificates and documents

Held against the record, with expiry alerts.

Customer formats

Reports and exports in the formats your customers demand.

Audit readiness

The evidence an auditor asks for, produced from the system.

UK GDPR, Making Tax Digital and the accountant

UK GDPR is a set of behaviours a system must perform: consent for a purpose, subject access within a month, erasure on request, retention rules, breach reporting. Making Tax Digital requires digital records with preserved digital links and filing through compatible software. Both are designed in from discovery, hosted in UK regions, and integrated with the accounting package the finance team already uses.

The accountant keeps Sage, Xero or QuickBooks. The operational system feeds it. Nobody re-keys an invoice.

Subject rights workflows

Access, correction, erasure and portability handled from the system.

Digital records

Transactions held in the form Making Tax Digital requires.

Accounting integration

Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent fed for filing.

UK hosting

AWS London, Azure UK South or Google Cloud London with backups in region.

Quoting for engineering work that is never the same twice

A West Midlands fabricator or engineering supplier quotes bespoke work all day: a drawing arrives, someone estimates material, machine time and labour from experience, a quote goes out, and nobody knows afterwards whether the job made money. A quoting system built on your own cost model, with material prices current, machine rates by process and a history of what similar jobs actually cost, produces a quote in minutes and a margin report at the end.

We build quoting integrated with the production and accounting systems, so the quote becomes the works order and the works order becomes the invoice without re-keying.

Your cost model

Material, process and labour rates the estimator already uses, made consistent.

Job history

What similar jobs actually cost, visible when quoting the next one.

Quote to works order

One record from enquiry to dispatch.

Margin by job

Quoted against actual, so the estimate improves.

Engineering for Birmingham from London

Infynix Solutions works from Dagenham and delivers software for businesses across the UK. We do not have a Birmingham office. Discovery on the floor, migration rehearsals and go-live happen at your premises, and the sprints between run remotely with a working demo every two weeks. Engineering capacity comes from our teams in the UK, the UAE and Kochi, which is how a West Midlands manufacturer gets senior engineers at rates that make sense.

The discovery call is free and technical. Bring the spreadsheets and the pain, and we will tell you what to replace first and what to leave alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a production or inventory system cost in Birmingham?

We do not quote from a rate card. A discovery session establishes the scope, the systems involved and the outcome you are working towards, and the proposal that follows is a fixed price or a monthly retainer for exactly that. If a smaller first phase would answer the question, we say so.

Do you have an office in Birmingham?

No. We serve Birmingham from our London office, with discovery, migration and go-live on site and sprint work between visits run remotely with demos every two weeks.

Do you implement Odoo for manufacturers?

Yes. Odoo with UK localisation is our default recommendation for standard manufacturing, inventory and accounting modules, and we build bespoke modules where it does not fit, which is often the quoting and traceability logic.

Can the system hold the records our automotive customers audit?

Yes. Traceability from goods in to dispatch, certificates held against the batch, expiry alerts and reports in your customers' formats are built into the operational system rather than beside it.

Will it work on the shop floor?

Yes. Barcode, scanner and tablet screens are designed for the floor and work offline where signal drops, syncing when it returns.

Do you handle UK GDPR and Making Tax Digital?

Yes. Consent, retention and data subject rights are designed into the product, digital records are held in the form Making Tax Digital requires, and the accounting package is integrated for filing.

Who owns the code?

You do. Source, infrastructure, documentation and credentials are handed over in your name.

Do you provide support after go-live?

Scope drives the number, so the honest answer comes after a short discovery rather than before it. What we commit to in advance is that the quote is fixed for the agreed scope, that there are no surprise extras, and that we tell you when a cheaper route would serve you better.

Can you build a quoting system for bespoke engineering work?

Yes. Quoting built on your own cost model with material prices, process rates and job history, integrated so the quote becomes the works order and the invoice, is a common West Midlands build.

Can you take over a system built by a previous supplier?

Yes, after an assessment. We review the code, infrastructure and documentation, tell you honestly what we find, and take it on under a support agreement if it is workable.
